Gravity

What is gravity?

Gravity is the force that attracts two bodies towards each other, the force that causes apples to fall towards the ground and planets to orbit the sun. The mass the object has the stronger the pull. Gravity is also the reason we have weight.

How was gravity discovered?

The story goes Newton was asleep and an apple fell on his head and Newton said, “what goes up must always come down.” But In reality newton saw an apple falling from a tree, and he started to think about the unknown force that pulls objects to the ground. He then compared the straight path of an apple to that of a curved path of a cannonball and came up with the conclusion that the cannonball would eventually fall around the curve of the Earth forever, and never hit the ground.

Why is gravity important?

Gravity is very important to us. Without gravity we would not be able to live on earth. The suns gravity keeps earth in orbit around it. Without gravity we would be floating and maybe tot even alive.
